What a social media scheduler for video studios actually does

A social media scheduler lets you write a post once, choose the accounts it goes to, and set the time it goes out, instead of posting to each platform by hand.

A video studio uses one a little differently. The posts are usually about work made for a client and go out on the client's own accounts, so the client wants to see each one first, and the video in the post is the cut they already signed off on.

One approved cut, six platforms at once

Share on Socials sits beside an approved cut or deliverable in the project, and opens a new post for that client with the video already attached. Pick any of the client's connected accounts, and the one post goes out as its own post on each of them, at the same time. Send the post to your client for sign-off, and an approved post goes out at the time you set.

  • One caption, or one per account: Keep one caption for every account, or switch to Customize per account and write a different one for each.
  • AI captions for each platform: Ask the AI assistant to write a caption for every selected account in one go, each for its own platform.
  • Settings per platform: Set what each platform needs: a YouTube Short or a regular video with its title and privacy, and TikTok's privacy and disclosure settings.
  • Caption, file and ratio checks: The same video goes to every account, so the editor checks the post against each platform's rules for caption length, file count and aspect ratio, and flags any it breaks.

Send it to your client for sign-off first

The client managers you pick get an email and a notification in their portal. They can approve the post, or ask for changes or reject it with a note, in their portal on a computer or a phone, or from the email without logging in.

  • With more than one client manager on the post, choose whether any one of them can approve it or all of them must.
  • The post's approval history records each approval, change request and rejection, with the name and note that came with it.
  • As a pending post gets close to its time, the managers who have not answered get a reminder email. A post still waiting for approval when its time comes is moved back to unscheduled instead of publishing.
  • A studio owner or admin can also approve on your side. For a reviewer with no login, you can copy a public approval link. Whoever opens it can approve, ask for changes or reject, and the approval history keeps the name they type. The link is not offered when every client manager on the post must approve.

Captions drafted from the footage itself

Switch on Analyze video content and the AI assistant watches the video in the post before it writes a caption with alternates in the tone you pick, hashtags, and for YouTube, a title. A long cut can be too long for it to analyze.

  • It can also make a thumbnail from a frame of the video, and doing so switches on the AI disclosure settings for TikTok and YouTube.
  • Everything it makes lands in the editor for your team to change, and it never posts anything on its own.
  • A caption, a hashtag set or a title costs 1 credit, or 3 when the video has to be analyzed first. After that, the analysis is kept for that video, so the next draft from it is back to 1 credit. Thumbnails are priced separately, and the editor shows the cost before you generate.

Eight things to check in a scheduler for client work

The first four are about getting the post right. The last four are about the client whose accounts it goes out on.

  • 01

One post can go to all six platforms

Pick the accounts once and the same post goes out on each of them, with a different caption per account if you want one.

  • 02

It starts from the approved cut

The video your client signed off on goes straight into a new post, without downloading it and uploading it again.

  • 03

It checks the post against each platform

Caption length, file count and aspect ratio are checked per platform in the editor.

  • 04

The AI can watch the video

Captions, hashtags and YouTube titles can be drafted from what is actually in the footage, and they land in the editor for you to edit.

  • 05

Your client approves in their own portal

Client managers approve, ask for changes or reject from their portal or from the email, and nobody has to forward screenshots.

  • 06

    Every decision is on record

The post's approval history records each approval, change request and rejection, with the name and note that came with it.

  • 07

A post waiting for sign-off does not go out

The managers who have not answered get a reminder email as its time gets close. A post still waiting for approval when its time comes is moved back to unscheduled instead of publishing.

  • 08

    The accounts stay the client's

Accounts are connected per client, and your client can connect their own, so nobody has to hand over a password.

MyStdio answers yes to all eight.

Three kinds of tool for posting client video

Honest take. Each one is the right answer for someone, depending on how much you post and whose accounts it goes out on.

Posting by hand

Each platform's own app, plus email

Someone posts from each platform's own app or site, account by account.

How MyStdio handles the posting

Six platforms, one post

Instagram, Facebook Pages, TikTok, YouTube, LinkedIn Company Pages and X, from a single post, with one caption for all of them or one per account.

A calendar per client

Day, Week, Month and Agenda views of that client's posts, drag to reschedule, and a best posting times overlay that starts from industry benchmarks.

An AI that can watch the cut

Captions, hashtags, YouTube titles and thumbnails, drafted from the video when you ask, for your team to review and edit.

Client sign-off

Send a post to your client's managers, then see each approval, change request and rejection in the post's approval history, with the name and note that came with it.

Their accounts, their login

Your client can connect their own accounts from the portal, and disconnect them there too.

A status for every platform

Once it publishes, each platform shows its own status, with a link to the live post where the platform returns one.

Common questions

A social media scheduler lets you write a post once, choose where it goes and set when it goes out. The version a video studio needs posts to its clients' accounts, starts from the video the client already approved, and lets that client sign off on the post before it goes out.
Six: Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube, LinkedIn and X. Instagram needs a professional (business or creator) account. Facebook connects as a Page, and LinkedIn connects Company Pages. One post can go to any of a client's connected accounts at the same time, with the same caption or a different one for each account.
Your client's. Accounts are connected per client, either by your client from their own portal, so no password has to change hands, or by a studio owner or admin on the client's behalf. Every post belongs to one client, and the editor lists only that client's accounts.
Send a post to your client's managers for sign-off, or have a studio owner or admin approve it on your side. Client managers can approve, or ask for changes or reject with a note, from their portal or from the email without logging in. For a reviewer with no login, you can copy a public approval link. Whoever opens it can approve, ask for changes or reject, and the approval history keeps the name they type. The link is not offered when every client manager on the post must approve. A post still waiting for approval when its time comes is moved back to unscheduled instead of publishing.
Yes. Client managers and client users see their company's posts in the Social Media section of their portal, as a list or on a calendar, apart from drafts, and both can comment on them. In the portal, a client manager can approve and a client user can't, and no one on the client's side can write or schedule a post.
The AI assistant is for your studio team. It drafts a caption with alternates, hashtags, YouTube titles and thumbnails, and with Analyze video content switched on it watches the video first (a long cut can be too long for it to analyze). Everything it makes lands in the editor for you to edit, and it never posts on its own. A caption, a hashtag set or a title costs 1 credit, or 3 when the video has to be analyzed first. After that, the analysis is kept for that video, so the next draft from it is back to 1 credit. Thumbnails are priced separately, and the editor shows the cost before you generate.
Social scheduling is on the Studio plan and above, and the plans below it do not include it. The AI assistant runs on AI credits, and an owner or admin can buy more in a credit pack. Social scheduling is a public Beta.
Yes. Social scheduling is a public Beta and carries a Beta badge in the app. There is nothing to request: it is open to every studio whose plan includes it.
